SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 79393. Bbl. 3". A 2nd Variation Model 1913 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by J.P. Sauer & Sohn for the Imperial German military in WWI. Top of the slide is marked "J.P. SAUER & SOHN, SUHL," followed by the J.P. Sauer logo, with "PATENT." marked on the left and the cal. designation marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with the S#, with a diminutive Imperial German military acceptance proof, followed by a Crown/N commercial nitro proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl. and firing pin, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "S&S" checkered brown hard rubber grips. Half-moon blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching via what appears to be an assembly # (3036) and include the frame, slide, bolt, firing pin, and slide end cap. MAGS: one 7-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown pebble grain leather holster marked "GENOSSENSCH./ SATTLEREI/ BRESLAU/ 1915." on the body, beneath the closure flap. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, with scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and some pitting present overall. Fair bore, exhibiting moderate pitting and a small bulge, while retaining fair to good rifling throughout. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting wear and some light age-related cracking.
