Lot of 7 Imperial Japanese Type 30 bayonets, including: 1) Type 30 Arisaka bayonet mfg. by Tokyo Arsenal. Right side of ricasso exhibits a Tokyo Arsenal insignia. Spine of grip is marked remnants of Kanji characters in white paint. Butt is numbered "32827". Blade is in-the-white, with the hooked quillon guard and pommel exhibiting a blue finish. 2-piece smooth wood grip scales. Complete with steel scabbard featuring a black painted finish. CONDITION: good, with the blade exhibiting scattered spots of light to mild pitting, as well as some areas of age related discoloration. Guard and pommel exhibit some wear, as well as some light to mild surface oxidation, with a small concentrated area of moderate oxidation present on the right side of the pommel. Scabbard is good overall. 2) Type 30 Arisaka bayonet mfg. by Toyoda Automatic Loom Works under Nagoya supervision. Right side of ricasso exhibits a Toyoda Automatic Loom Works insignia. Pommel is numbered "53260" on the butt. Blade, straight guard, and pommel exhibit a blue finish. 2-piece smooth wood grip scales. Complete with blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: very good, with the blade retaining the majority of its original blue finish, exhibiting some wear and thinning overall, as well as some oxidative etching and pin prick pitting on the right side towards the tip. Guard and pommel exhibit some light wear and spots of light surface oxidation. Grips show some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard is very good, with light to mild surface oxidation present overall. 3) Type 30 Arisaka bayonet mfg. by Nagoya. Right side of the ricasso is marked with the Nagoya arsenal insignia. Pommel appears to be numbered "37452" on the butt, with the first digit being poorly struck at the arsenal. Blade, hooked quillon guard, and pommel exhibit a blue finish overall. 2-piece smooth wood grip scales. Complete with a blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade retains the majority of its original blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning, some scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation, as well as some scattered spots of age related discoloration. Guard and pommel exhibit areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina. Grips show some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows areas of wear and thinning, as well as areas of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting overall. 4) Type 30 Arisaka bayonet mfg. by an unknown mfg. under Kokura supervision. Right side of the ricasso is marked with the Kokura arsenal insignia, followed by an unidentified mfg. marking. Pommel is numbered "103360" on the butt. Blade is polished in-the-white, with the hooked quillon and pommel exhibiting a blue finish overall. 2-piece smooth wood grip scales. Complete with a blued steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade is very good, exhibiting some spots of age related discoloration, as well as a few areas of oxidative etching. Guard and pommel exhibit some wear and thinning, as well as areas of light to mild surface oxidation. Grips show scattered marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard shows some areas of wear and thinning, with scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation overall. 5) Type 30 Arisaka bayonet produced by an unknown mfg. Right side of the ricasso is blank, with no legible markings present on the butt of the pommel. Blade is in-the-white. Hooked quillon. 2-piece smooth wood grip scales. Complete with a green painted steel scabbard, fitted with a U.S. OD canvas web frog. CONDITION: blade exhibits scattered spots of mild pitting, with age related discoloration and sharpening marks present overall. Guard exhibits a gray patina, with areas of darker patina and pitting present overall. Pommel exhibits a dark gray patina. Scabbard exhibits flaking and wear to its painted finish, with scattered dents and impressions. 6) Type 30 Arisaka bayonet mfg. by National Denki (National Electric) under Kokura supervision. Right side of the ricasso is marked with the National Denki arsenal insignia. Pommel is marked "02016" on the butt. Blade, hooked quillon, and pommel exhibiting a black enamel type finish. 2-piece smooth wood grip scales. Complete with a blued steel scabbard and original brown leather frog. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original black enamel type finish, exhibiting some light wear and thinning overall. Grips show a few superficial marks and minor impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Scabbard is very good, exhibiting some light to mild surface oxidation overall. Leather frog remains malleable, exhibiting wear, some age related cracking, as well as areas of crazing overall. 7) "Last Ditch" Type 30 Arisaka bayonet mfg. by Toyoda Loom Works under Nagoya supervision. Right side of the ricasso exhibits Toyoda's arsenal insignia. Number on butt is mostly illegible. Standard "Last Ditch" pattern blade, without blood groove. Straight guard and pommel exhibit a blue finish. 2-piece smooth wood grip scales. CONDITION: blade retains a mostly brown patina, exhibiting light to mild pitting overall, with scattered spots of age related discoloration. Guard and pommel exhibit scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. 8) 2 brown leather Type 30 Arisaka frogs. CONDITION: frogs remain malleable, exhibiting areas of age related cracking and crazing overall. Retention strap is torn on both frogs, with 1 exhibiting losses to the stitching on the rear.
