15mm, 15" barrel, S/N 246. Visible numbers matching. Bright finish with beech stock. Blade front sight with folding leaf rear sight. Barrel marked on right side with multiple Prussian acceptance marks and proofs. Receive shows "1871" production dates along with matching acceptance and proof marks. Receiver shows "Soemmerda" manufacturing marking, indicating manufacture in Prussia by the Dreyse plant. Stock marked throughout with inspection marks including Prussian "[crown]/FW" final acceptance. **Very good condition. Barrel has a dull pewter patination with some old oil staining. Stock has some scattered marks and blemishes. Stamps in metal and wood are visible and are mostly legible. Needle is present and in fine condition, the action functioning normally. Bore is fine; bright with strong rifling. An excellent example of this fairly rare carbine in a strong state of condition.** $3,500-$5,000
