Antique Napoleonic Period Belgian Cavalry Pistol
Made in Liege, Belgium during the Napoleonic Period circa 1815 by an undetermined gunsmith. This pistol was built for use by heavy cavalry units during this time period and up until the 1830's. Pistol has 9" round 69 caliber smoothbore barrel with no sights and attached captured steel ramrod. Large rounded flintlock with deep stamped oval illegible maker's mark with single trigger control. Walnut stock with brass hardware and lanyard ring in butt. A great piece of history. CALIBER: 69. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Overall good with metal fading to a brown patina with light oxidation. Brass appears to unclean and exhibits a natural golden patina from handling. Stock has traces of original finish with a period repaired crack in wrist. Dark pitted bore with crisp functioning mechanics.
