Antique Ornate Ottoman Empire Flintlock Pistol
Made in areas under control of the Ottoman Empire circa 1750 and heavily influenced by pistols built on the European Continent, especially France. Gun measures 19" overall with a 11-1/2" steel faceted then turning to round barrel with flared muzzle in .67 smoothbore caliber. Barrel is heavily embellished with floral and line engraving with a flat sighting plane and copper blade front sight. Early "Banana" style flint lock with no markings held in place with raised floral pattern gilded sideplate with 9 piercings and controlled by pierced turned tail trigger. Dark ebony or mahogany wood stock ornately raised carved overall with floral patterns with some areas of silver wire work with faux non-functional ramrod. Stock has brass engraved "Skull Cracker" type buttcap with brass furniture and missing thumbpiece inlay. CALIBER: 67. FFL STATUS: Antique.
CONDITION
Overall fair with metal showing heavy wear and usage. Stock exhibits some areas of missing wood near buttcap and around lock. Brass and gun show heavy usage wear. Pitted bore with sticky mechanics. Be neat to hear this guns story.
