No.1: French Model 1892 Second Pattern Bayonet. 15 5/8" bright fullered blade. 20 1/8" overall. Produced for the Model 1892 Short Rifle which was used by mounted troops, railway & telegraph units. The second model has a muzzle ring which extends backwards over the grip. The top forward end of the blade has an unusual groove. Blade has notches ground to help secure the bayonet inside of its steel scabbard. Blade is marked w/ an encircled "P" on the left ricasso. Crossguard w/ curved quillon carries the serial number. Black composite grips secured by two rivets. Matching steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade has light wear & staining w/ small areas of light oxidation. Balance of metal turning gray & patina. Grips have wear & handling marks. Scabbard shows much of its original blue w/ wear & areas of very light oxidation. No.2: French Model 1874 Gras Bayonet. 20 5/8" bright blade w/ "T" profile. 25 1/2" overall. Blade markings on back in script include "St. / Etienne / 1877". CONDITION: blade is overall gray w/ light wear & light oxidation. Crossguard is turned patina w/ splotches of white paint. Grips have moderate wear & handling marks. Brass pommel has a pleasing patina. Scabbard has traces of blue turning patina w/ light oxidation & scattered spots of white paint. No.3: French Model 1874 Gras Bayonet. 20 3/8" bright blade w/ "T" profile. 26 1/8" overall. Markings in script on top of blade include "St / Etienne / 1876". Crossguard w/ curved quillon carries the S# which matches scabbard. Smooth walnut grips fastened by two rivets. Brass pommel. Matching steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade has moderate wear, light oxidation & spots of very fine pitting. Crossguard has overall patina'd appearance w/ wear. Grips have moderate wear & handling marks. Brass pommel has a very dark worn patina. Scabbard retains a fair portion of his original blue w/ several large areas of light oxidation. No.4: French Model 1886/93/16 Lebel Bayonet. 20 3/8" quadrangular spike blade. 25" overall. Brass handle. Bayonet has only acceptance marks & S#. CONDITION: blade is turning gray & patina as well as crossguard. Handle has pleasing mustard patina w/ light wear. Scabbard has turned overall gray & patina w/ scattered areas of moderate pitting. No.5: French Model 1886 Lebel Bayonet. 20 3/8" quadrangular spiked blade. 25 1/8" overall. Bayonet marked only w/ S# that matches scabbard. Curved quillon. Brass handle. Matching steel scabbard. CONDITION: blade has moderate wear & staining. Crossguard is turning overall patina. Brass handle has a very dark patina appearance. Scabbard has small dents & has turned overall patina w/ extensive light oxidation. (02-23853/RW). NON-GUN. $300-500.
